Geekvape Z Series Replacement Coils

The Geekvape Z Series Replacement Coils are available in four sub-ohm resistances for direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping: the current XM Boost builds at 0.15 Ohms, 0.2 Ohms and 0.4 Ohms, and a 0.25 Ohms dual mesh coil. All four use a KA1 mesh build, come in a pack of 5 and fit Geekvape's Zeus and Z tanks. Expect dense vapour, a fast ramp-up and rich flavour at higher wattages.

The XM Boost coils replace the earlier Z coils, and because the push-fit design is the same, either generation fits any tank in the range. The choice is yours. All of them are DTL coils, and Geekvape recommend high-VG freebase e-liquid at a low nicotine strength of 3mg or below.

The Current Z Coils

Z1, Z2 and the Classic Z Coils

Geekvape used short names on the first Z coils, so one resistance can carry two different names. Only the label changed. Check your last pack or the coil in your tank against this:

All three are the classic Z mesh coils. Please note: the classic 0.15 Ohms was rated a little higher than its XM replacement, at 80-90W against 70-85W.

The XM Boost Upgrade

XM stands for eXtra Mesh, a denser mesh design that heats the e-liquid more evenly than the mesh it replaces. Geekvape rates an XM coil for 50 to 60ml of e-liquid, about twice the coil life of the classic Z build.

Where These Coils Fit

The Z coils are designed for use with the Zeus and Z sub-ohm tanks: the Zeus Sub-Ohm (original, 2021 and SE), the Z Sub-Ohm 5, the Z Fli and Z Fli 2, and the Obelisk 120 and 120 FC. Kits that come with one of those tanks use the same coils: the Aegis Legend 2, 3 and 5, the S100 (Aegis Solo 2), the Aegis Solo 3, the T200, the Z200 and the Obelisk 200.

Two tanks in the Z family are not compatible with these coils. The Z Max uses the M Series coils, and the Z Nano 2 uses the smaller B Series coils.

How long do Zeus coils last?

Higher wattage, sweet flavours and chain vaping all shorten coil life, so the number of tanks you get from one varies. Keeping each coil within the wattage range for its resistance helps it last longer. When the flavour starts to fade or the vapour drops off, it is time for a new coil.

How do you prime a Z Series coil?

Geekvape recommends three to five minutes between filling the tank and your first puff. Season the coil with a few drops of e-liquid, fit it and fill the tank, then wait for it to soak. Priming this way prevents dry hits and a harsh first puff.
