The Innokin Ajax Replacement Coils are designed exclusively for use with the Innokin Ajax tank. They are supplied in a pack of 5 and are available in either a 0.16 Ohms coil rated for 50-80W or a 0.35 Ohms coil rated for 30-55W.
Both are direct-to-lung (DTL) coils. The 0.35 Ohms gives a cooler, smoother vape at lower wattages. The 0.16 Ohms gives more vapour output and a warmer vape at higher power. High VG e-liquid, 70VG/30PG or higher, suits either resistance. Sub-ohm vaping is best paired with the low-level 3mg and 6mg nicotine strengths.
Ajax Tank Only
An Ajax coil is only compatible with the Innokin Ajax tank. That tank is included with the Innokin MVP5 Ajax (5200mAh, 6-120W), the Innokin Proton Mini Ajax (3400mAh, 6-120W) and the Innokin Kroma-R Ajax (6-80W). The Kroma-R Ajax is powered by a single 18650 battery.
Please note: all three kits are also compatible with Innokin's Zenith and Zlide tanks, and those tanks are not compatible with Ajax coils. If your tank is a Zenith or a Zlide, you need the Innokin Zenith Coils - Replacement Coils.
Innokin's iSub-B coils use the Plex3D name as well and include a 0.35 Ohms, and that coil is not compatible with the Ajax tank. Check your device before selecting.
Next Generation Plex3D Matrix
Both coils use Plex3D mesh, and the 0.16 Ohms is the next generation Plex3D Matrix. The mesh heats the e-liquid more evenly across a larger surface area, for a faster ramp up and bold flavour. Plex3D's even heating means fewer dry hits as well.
Can I use an Innokin Z coil in the Ajax tank?
No. Z coils are made for the Zenith and Zlide tanks, and the Ajax tank is only compatible with Ajax coils. The MVP5 has a separate power preset for each of the two platforms, so the coils you need follow the tank you are using, not the mod.
How long does an Innokin Ajax coil last?
Lower wattages extend coil life, so the 0.35 Ohms at 30-55W will usually last longer than the 0.16 Ohms at 50-80W. High VG e-liquid is thicker, and a thicker or sweeter blend can affect wicking and shorten coil life on either resistance. With a new coil, allow a few minutes after filling for the e-liquid to soak into the wicking before your first puff.
What wattage should I use with Ajax coils?
Use the 0.16 Ohms at 50-80W and the 0.35 Ohms at 30-55W. On the MVP5 Ajax, select Ajax and the device automatically sets the wattage and range for you. On the Proton Mini Ajax, the Kroma-R Ajax or another 510 mod, set the wattage manually to suit the coil you are using.
