Which Vaporesso Armour is right for you?
It comes down to your vaping style and how rugged you need the kit. Here they are, entry point to flagship.
Armour G - the entry point and the natural beginner step-up. An 80W pod-mod with a built-in 3,000mAh battery and GTX mesh coils, it leans on Smart Mode to set the wattage for you, so there is nothing to configure before you vape.
Armour GS - the same 80W GTX platform rebuilt around a removable 18650 cell, for anyone who would rather swap in a charged spare than wait on a cable.
Armour S - the step up to sub-ohm. It puts out 100W from a single 21700 or 18650 and pairs the iTank 2 with GTi mesh coils for a warm DTL draw.
Armour Max - the power option, and the one in stock now. Two 21700 or 18650 cells take it to 220W through the same iTank 2, with full temperature control plus the F(t) and Pulse modes for fine-tuning your setup.
Armour Ultra - the newest and toughest of the family. It delivers 100W from a built-in 5,500mAh battery with GTi Dual Mesh coils, and it is the one Armour built to be properly weatherproof and military drop-tested, with fast charging to match.
For nic salts, choose the G or GS and pair them with the DojoLiq range.
Want something lighter, or simpler?
If an Armour kit is more than you need, the Luxe range covers lighter MTL setups, while the XROS range keeps pod vaping about as simple as it gets. To compare the whole line-up, browse all Vaporesso vape kits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which coils do the Armour kits use, and can I mix them?
The two pod-mods, the G and GS, take GTX coils. The three sub-ohm kits, the S, Max and Ultra, take GTi coils, with the Ultra using a GTi Dual Mesh version. The two platforms are not interchangeable, so a GTX coil will not fit a GTi tank or the other way round; check which kit you own before you reorder.
Can I use nic salts in an Armour kit?
Yes, on the G and GS. Fit a higher-resistance GTX coil, 0.8 Ohms or above, with a 50/50 or 10/20mg nic salt and you get a smooth MTL draw. The GTi sub-ohm kits, the S, Max and Ultra, are not suited to salts: they sit at low resistance and high power, so they want a high-VG shortfill instead.
Is the Armour Ultra really waterproof?
It is the most weatherproofed kit in the range. The Ultra carries IP68 and IP69K ratings for dust and water and a MIL-STD-810H rating for a 1.2m drop, with the USB-C port behind a flap and a sealed battery door. That said, rated and sealed is not a free pass: no kit should be deliberately submerged beyond the limits it was tested to.
How long does the Armour Ultra battery last?
Vaporesso rates the 5,500mAh battery at up to three days. In real-world use, expect a day or two of moderate vaping depending on how hard you push it, and when it does run down, 9V fast charging over USB-C tops it back up quickly.
